Baseball, Softball and Golf Inside A Ballpark

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted anything, so I thought I would try and get caught up on a few items.

Lions Baseball

Yesterday, I had a chance to get out and catch the Lions in their game against the Du Quoin Indians.

The Lions were down 6-5 in the bottom of the 6th. That's when Cole Sizemore came to the plate and drove in two to give the Lions a 7-6 lead. Alex Haake earned the save as he closed out the game for the Lions.

The Lions evened their conference mark to 3-3 with the win. Head coach Bobby Jackson was proud of his teams effort in the win.

The Lions hit the road on Monday when they travel to Anna-Jonesboro to take on the Wildcats.

Lady Lions Softball

The Lady Lions were in action as well on Friday. They pushed their conference record to a perfect 6-0 with a 3-1 win over the Lady Indians from Du Quoin.

Coach Wil Capie likes where his Lady Lions are at this point of the season.

The Lady Lions will take on the Lady Wildcats on the road in Anna on Monday. Game time is set for 2:30 PM.

Luke Ford's Stock Continue's to Climb

A couple of weeks ago, Luke participated in the Nike Football The Opening camp in Chicago at the Bears training facility.

As always, Luke had a fantastic camp. In fact based on his performance, he was invited to the finals that will take place in Oregon at the Nike Headquarters later this summer.

This camp is for the top 166 players in the country.

The Links @ Rent One Park

For all my golfing friends, there is a very cool event taking place at Rent One Park next week.

The SI Miners are turning Rent One Park in to a 9 hole golf course inside the ballpark. If you have ever been to a Top Golf facility, this is similar to that except it is inside Rent One Park.

This is going to be a fantastic time and an opportunity to play golf in a

unique setting.
