Carterville Lions Scores

3/1/16

 

The Carterville Lions play the #1 seed Lawrenceille Indians in the Flora Sectional for the champtionship tonight.

 

Carterville kept it close but in the end, the Lawrenceville Indians were just to much as the Lions season comes to an end 60-50. 

 

Austin Swalls scored 16 and Taylor added15.

 

The Lions end the season with a 21-12 record.

2/26/16

 

The Carterville Lions were in Flora to face the Carmi-White County Bulldogs in the semi-finals of the IHSA sectionals.

 

The Lions got 18 from Austin Swalls, 17 from Brennan Beasley and 10 from Taylor heil as the Lions advnce to the sectional final with a 56-49 win over the Bulldogs.

The Carterville Lions begin the 2016 IHSA Playoffs with first round game agasint Flora at the Hamilton County Regional.

 

Austin Swalls goes over 1000 points in his high school career as he scores 30.

The Carterville Lions were at home to host the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats.

 

The Lions won 48-44.

The Vienna Eagles beat the Carterville Lions in the first game of the2016 West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic.

 

 

 

1/15/16

 

The Pinckneyville Panthers beat the Carterville Lions 58-35 in River-to-River Conference action.

 

The Panthers played good solid defense and shut down the Lions offense.

 

Austin Swalls and Justin Parson-Nally tallied 8 points each to lead the Lions.  Taylor Heil and Colt Wilkey each had 8.

 

The Panthers were led by Clayton Houghland who scored 22.

 

1/9/16

The Carterville Lions made the long bus trip to Wabash County to take on the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces a night after beating the Bulldogs on a last second shot.

The Lions held a 6 point lead with 14 seconds left, but wind up going to overtime and not recoving in a 83-72 loss.

Austin Swalls scored 26 for the Lions, however the Aces Justin Carpenter had 33 and Jackson Marcotte had 36.  Both of those players stand 6'8.

1-8-16

 

The Carterville Lions opened 2016 with a River-to-River Conference game agasint the Sparta Bulldogs.  The Lions brought their 2-1 conference record in to the game.  It was a nail biter, as it came down to the last 4.5 seconds as Brenden Beasley took the inbounds pass the length of the floor to break a 56-56 tie.  He hits the game winner and the Lions beat the Bulldogs 58-56.

Austin Swalls had 20 and Brenden Bealey finished with 14.

12/29/15

The Lions worked their way into the Champsionship game of the Duster Thoams Hoops classic to take on the the 6th ranked Hawks from Waterloo Gibault.

Austin Swalls had 20 and Taylor Heil added 15 as the Lionis won the Championship for the secnd year in a row 54-46.

Both Swalls and Heil make the All-Tourny Team.

12/29/15

Day 2 of the Duster Thomas hoops Classic started off with a very game Chester Yellow Jackets hanging around, but the Lions get the win 51-45.

Austin Swalls lead the Lions with 13 and Colt Wilkey added 10.

12/28/15

In the second game of the day and the tournament, the Lions took on Wesclin Warriors and come away with a 62-53 win.

Taylor Heil worked hard and scored 15, Justin Parson-Nally had 11 and Austin Swalls added 13.

The Lions opened the 2015 Duster Thomas Hoops Classic against the Rockets from Unity High School.

the Lions got balanced scoring as Austin Swalls had 16, Brenden Beasley had 15 and Taylor Heil added 10.

12/22/15

The second conference game of the season was against the Nashville Hornets as they came to Carterville and left with a 55-49.  Royce Newman for the Hornets had 18.

Austin Swalls continued to lead the Lions with 18 and Taylor Heil had 11.

12/19/15

The Carbondale Terriers came to Carterville to take on the Lions in an afternoon tilt on a Saturday.

The Terriers proved to be too much for the Lions overcome in a 57-39 loss.

Austin Swalls again was the leading scorer for the Lions with 17 and Brenden Bealsey added 10.

12/18/15

The Lions opened River-to-River Conference action on the road at Anna-Jonesboro.

Austin Swalls scores 17 and Blake Jackson gets 9 and the Lions escape with a 49-44 win over the Wildcats.

12/5/15 The Lions bounced back from their loss toe Murphy to beat the Harrisburg Bulldogs 72-62 in the final game of the Erne Bozarth Memorial.

Austin Swalls led the Lions with 26 points and Taylor Heil added 13.

 

The Lions finish 4-1 in the tourny and take home 2nd place overall.

12/4/15  Carterville took on the host school Murphysboro Red Devils in the 4th game of the Ernie Bozarth Memorial Tournament.  The Red Devils were too much for the Lions as they beat the Lions 50-40.

Taylor Heil led the Lions with 12 points and Austin Swalls had 10.

11/28/15 Game 2 of the day and of the season was a 62-54 win over Confluence Prep Acadamy in the Ernie Bozarth Memorial Tournament in Murphysboro.  

Jutin Parson-Nally lead all scorers for the Lions with 18 and Taylor heil added 13.

11/28/15 The Carterville Lions and new Head Coach David Brown opened the season with a win over Sumner High School 53-28 in the first game of the Ernie Boazarth Memorial Tournament.

Austi Swalls scored 25 and Brenden Beasley added 13.
