The Carterville Lions return to action for the last time before Christmas tonight as they have a HUGE conference game on the road at Nashville to take on the Hornets.

The Hornets are a perfect 6-0 on the season while the Lions come in with a 5-4 record overall and a perfect 2-0 SIRR record.

Carterville split two games last week, earning a hard-fought 45-40 win over AJ on Friday night but suffering a pretty sound beating at Carbondale on Saturday 53-32.

Pre-Game coverage begins at 7:30 tonight with Scott and myself, and as always we will have the YouTube Live Stream up and running. You can watch it by clicking here or watching below.

Good luck tonight boys and #RollPride

After tonight, the Lions are done until next Tuesday, when they open play in the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic in Pinckneyville.

They will play their first game at 4:00 PM in the auxiliary gym and then will play the night cap game in the Thomas Gym starting at 8:30 PM.

Scott and I will have all the coverage and live Youtube feed for each of the games.

As you can see, game time for Wednesday will be determined by their record in pool play on Tuesday. I will keep you up to date on game times.

Also, the Lady Lions will start play in the Benton Rangerette Christmas Classic on December 28th at 11:00 AM in rich Herrin Gymnasium. They will also play again at 6:00 pm in the East Gym at Benton High School.

The Carterville Cheerleaders competed in their second competition of the season at Edwardsville this last Sunday. They finished in 3rd place in their division. Here is the video of their performance.

If you haven't done so, take some time to check out the new Lions Athletic web sight. You can sign up for text alerts to keep you up to date on Lions sports as well as post pictures that you take at the various games and competitions.

This is a one stop source for Carterville Athletics.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that reads my blog or listens to the games on the radio. Don't forget to share the things that your like.

I also want to say thank you to my Amy.

Without her support I don't know if I could do all of these things. Carterville sports have become something that we get to do together and I'm grateful for her support.

We just want to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas"!
