Let the Conference Season Begin - Basketball Style

The Lions are back in action tonight as they open conference play on the road when they take on the Du Quoin Indians.
The Lions (3-3) on the season, are coming off a 64-32 win over the Lovejoy Wildcats this past Tuesday. In that game, the Lions started the game our of sync and were forced into 13 turnovers at the half and holding a 21-11 lead. But after a half-time chat with Coach Hawkins, the Lions came out in the second half and put the Wildcats away.
10 players wind up in the scoring book on the night with Brendan Beasley leading the way with his 19 points, and Taylor Heil chipping in 16.
The Lions are taking on the Du Quoin Indians who come into tonight's game with a 3-1 record. The Indians have wins over Cairo (66-64), Sesser-Valier (63-51) and a big win over the above mentioned Lovejoy Wildcats (70-49).
This is the Southern Illinois River-to-river Conference opener for both teams, and a win to open the conference season would be big for both teams.

Congratulations to Matt Crain and the Lady Indians on a big overtime conference win over Anna-Jonesboro Monday Night 34-32. the Lady Lions hit the road this Tuesday as they travel to Nashville to take on the Lady Hornets. 7:45 pm is the tip-off.
