The Lions are coming off of a 21 win season, one which they won the regional championship. This year Coach Hawkins will have a experienced core of starters, however there are only three seniors on this years squad. . Running the offense is senior Guard Brendan Beasley, with fellow guard/forwards Senior Blake Jackson and Junior Justin Johnson. Down low the Lions will have the big man tandem of Luke Ford, a junior and Senior Taylor Heil, both of which are 6'6.

I've had the chance to go to practice several times so for and I am really excited to see this team on the floor. They have been working incredibly hard to get ready for the season.
It should be a fun year for this group of Lions and Head Coach Shane Hawkins. The complete Lions 2016 schedule is posted at www.cartervillelionsathletics.com

Radio/Video Broadcast

Scott Hudson and I will have the call all season long on NewsRadio WJPF. Plus we will be streaming the games live on YouTube. Please keep in mind, there are some times the stream may not work perfectly. That usually happens when cell service can be sketchy. Will always try to the best we can to get the game up and running.
I would also like to say thank you to my Amy Turner. She is the one responsible to running the video feed. It truly wouldn't be possible to do if it weren't for her.
Also, I'm going to be taking off a few days this week, so I will be missing the games on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I will be leaving you in the very capable hands of Scott Hudson. Video on Youtube will not be available for those games.
Carterville Lady Lions

Coach Matt Crain and the Lady Lions began their 2016/17 season this week at the Marion Lady Wildcat Invitational with a 68-51 win over Gallatin County. The Lady Lions lost a tough one to Vienna Thursday night 56-51.
