Two games left. The "experts" say, win and your in!
The Carterville Lions really do control their own destiny. To even have a chance to get in the 2016 IHSA playoffs, we must have wins over Pinckneyville and Massac County. That's really all this team needs to think about.
When you look at the records of Pinckneyville and Massac Co, one would think it's a done deal making the playoffs. But DO NOT overlook either one of these teams. Last week, the Panthers lost a heart-breaker against Nashville 36-35 in double over-time. I promise you that Todd Thomas and his Panthers want nothing more than to knock off the Lions and keep them from making the post-season.
The Lions have had a very good week of practice and are embracing the task in front of them. Plus the fact that the last two games of the season are home will help. It they need any more motivation, then that will help. We need a big crowd to come out and yell and scream for our Lions.

Meet the Lions - Winter Edition
Scott and I talked about basketball season being right around the corner during last week's game at Sparta. This week, the Athletic Booster Club finalized their plans for the the "Meet The Lions Night" for the winters sports teams. It will be held on November 11th in the main gym.
The evening will include a chili dinner, basketball scrimmages, kids activities, raffles including a chance to win basketball season tickets WITH a parking space, t-shirts and an autographed ball signed by the 2016 Lions.
It's going to be a great night and we invite everyone to come out and meet all the players & participants of the winter sports at Carterville.
