Crownline's Commitment to Family

(This is a re-print of a blog post I wrote for Crownline).

Or to put it another way, in order to understand Crownline better, you need to understand where we come from.

Crownline Boats is a company that understands family. Crownline is a company that builds a product that is designed for a family. Crownline is a company that was founded by a family and those family values still hold true today, some 25 years later.

Witness what took place today, with little fanfare, little recognition.

One of the boat orders that came through to our sales department included more than just the specifications that the customer wanted. Not just what color scheme they wanted on the hull and deck or what type of interior and color was desired or even what type of stereo package was needed? No, this boat also came with a backstory. In almost every case, we see what options the customer wants on their boat but rarely do we get to understand “why” the customer wants to purchase a Crownline. But this week, we found out the “why” story.

I don’t want to go into detail with the story of this family, as it is extremely important and private matter they are going through. Sherri and Jarrod are just taking each day as it comes and making memories as they go along. Fortunately, Crownline gets to play a little part in those memories.

Once it became known of the situation with this family and the reason they made the decision to purchase a Crownline, our Production Manager, Kay Newberry, immediately went to work to try and make this one boat just a little more special. She made a giant card that was given to every employee to sign. She also ordered some special swag, towels, cooler bag and a couple of other little items.

The owners of the boat traveled a long distance in order to come and personally pick up their Crownline and these extras were presented to Sherri and Jarrod when they saw their boat for the first time.

This isn’t the first time that Crownline and its employees have contributed to a customer over and above what is expected of them. In fact, there are been multiple examples in which the Crownline family has come together to make the customers purchase just a little more special.

Earlier this year, a customer purchased a 330 CR that HAD to be delivered on time in Florida, so the family could hold a wedding on that boat. Crownline delivered that boat directly to the dock, on time.

Most notably, back in 2001, in the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Center, Crownline teamed up with the American Red Cross to build a special edition Crownline complete with an American flag graphics package. That boat was auctioned off and the money was donated to the ARC to help many other people.

At Crownline, we understand the importance of the impact our boats have on the buying customer. We understand that this story is just one of hundreds of stories about “Crownies” and their boat. As a matter of fact, please feel free to share your “crownie” story through our social media pages or website. We would love to hear them.

It was fantastic to see the post from Sherri that said “We are so blessed to have met the family that works at Crownline Boats. It’s clear that each person puts their heart and soul into their work. Thank you for making our experience so personal. Crownline is a large part of the legacy we are creating as a family.”

It just doesn’t get any better than that!
