So last weekend Amy and I took the kiddos and made a trip to visit Memphis, TN. For those that have a blended family, sometimes you have to meet the other parent somewhere and luckily for us Memphis was our meeting spot.

I started out wanting to document our entire trip. We packed so many this in to just a couple of days and each stop is a story in and of itself.

So I thought I would just posts some of the pictures from the trip. Please keep in mind that we also bought our first (of many I am sure) Selfie Stick. There were 8 people in our party for the trip and we are a group that likes to document our excursions with photo's so in order to get everyone in the photo's...a selfie stick was absolutely mandatory. Plus I like saying selfie stick!

We started out our trip with a stop at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This place is a miracle on earth, and if given the chance to be able to visit it, please go.

I know...that's a good looking group visiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
The is the garden at St. Jude where Danny Thomas and his wife are burried.

That's Ms. Thang, Alison Margaret VI in front and the CSSO (Chief Selfie Stick Operator) from left to right in back...Barb, The Jerry, Amy, Zack, Matt, Chris and the DMac.

We went to the National Civil Rights Museum, and I wish we would have spent more time there. This was a facinating exhibit and I wish everyone would have the opportunity to visit.

And of course, what would be a trip with Memphis and not be able to see my St. Louis Cardinals Triple A affiliate Memphis Redbirds at Autozone Park.

Let me tell you what....it was blistering hot in that stadium.

Finally on Sunday we visited the Nation Ornamental Metal Museum, which was located on the river bluff and had a facinating story about its location. The museum was great and there was a working blacksmith's shop. They also were doing a aluminum pour into scratch pots.
